33 or 9 penned by Ian Griffin will take you back into the dark world of spy games. Rick and Katja face one challenge after the other. They have to be intimate with others sometimes in order to complete the mission. Rick saw an American on the streets of Salzburg. This man is Roger who is selling his nation's important secrets down here.
Rick pulls out his Beretta with a suppressor and fires two shots into Roger's chest. When Rick gave the briefcase to Franz, he mentioned an unusual business card that said "33 or 9". What does this mean?
Find out yourself by reading this gripping story. Once I started reading this book, I binge read it and craved for more. Ian's writing style is amazing. His backdrop settings give you the feel as if you are in that place yourself. The best part of the book is how the characters and their relationships are developed.
Overall, I loved this book.
The 2nd book in this series outperformed the first book by a large margin in my opinion. The author was able to really spend time further developing the characters and working through the challenges they face in their dual lives. Add to that the family dynamic of kids in the picture and you start to see how complex this can get. The writing style has also improved. The author is really hitting his stride and you can see that in the formulation of the story line itself as well as how easily the novel flows through the pages. I couldn't put it down and finished it in about three days. Well worth the read and the ending.... just WOW! Did NOT see that coming. Read this book if you like spy type novels with a twist here and there, you won't be disappointed!
I love reading Crime fiction. After finishing the first book in the "Rick and Katja," book series, I was excited to get my hands on the second installment in the series.
In this book, we again meet Rick and Katja, the two main characters. Both of them had many dangerous adventures in the first book and it continues in the second book. The story began with Rick killing the man named Roger. Roger was selling the secrets of his nation in Salzburg. He explained to Rick that he has to pay for his daughter's college and that's why he is doing so. Rick didn't hesitate to kill the man.
Read this story to find out what would be the next adventure for Rick and Katja. Will their relationship stand the test of time? Since the author has served in the US army for many years, he has had great knowledge about the world of espionage, danger, assassinations, etc. The language used in the book is lucid and I enjoyed every bit of it. The author has done fantastic work in this book. I am curious to read more books by Ian in the future.
There are very few books that have the power to capture the reader's attention from the first page itself. Recently I read 33 or 9, the second book in the Rick and Katja book series. It is a captivating story that will pull the readers immediately into the dark world of spy games.
Rick and Katja aren't afraid to take on new challenges. They took every opportunity that was thrown in front of them no matter if it involved killing someone or getting closer to someone. Their main goal is to complete the mission given to them by Franz. When a business card with 33 or 9 written on it was found, Katja joked about it. Since they were on the brothel street, she mentioned maybe it is 33 minutes or 9 minutes, a time that most men can endure.
The cover photo of the book is well designed and the title is suitable. The story is engaging and makes you curious. The writing style of the author fits my reading taste.
This book made a strong impression on me and left me wanting to read more of Ian's work.
In "33 or 9", the reader is brought to the scene of many adventures. This was a great continuation from book #1, which I also highly recommend. An ending that was unexpected and draws you wanting even more.
This book is certainly not for young readers, but still maintains a sense of decorum that is needed in this type of story- an interesting movie it would be. The settings are wonderful, suspenseful and rewarding to the mind.
Another aspect I enjoyed was the sense of integrity, honor and dedication to family that is through out the story.
I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the next in line. You will not be disappointed

It is such a book that holds a unique taste with another level of intensity! The story's pacing is perfectly balanced, with moments of suspense intertwined with emotional depth.
The author has skillfully weaved the whole story and one can easily get trapped inside the book!
The writing style is engaging, drawing readers into the lives of the characters and making them feel a part of the story.
The book is a page turner. It is easy to read and perfect for beginners. The language and presentation are excellent.

In this installment, the spy couple, Rick and Katja, take on new challenges and adventures, pushing the boundaries of their skills and their marriage. As they face both old and new enemies, their journey leads them across multiple countries and continents. What sets this book apart is its unflinching exploration of the intimate aspects of their relationship, which is often overlooked in spy thrillers. The book delves into the challenges of maintaining a family while navigating dual military careers in the Army and leading secret lives as spies.
What I found unique and compelling about "33 or 9" is its willingness to address the complexities of a spy couple's life, both in terms of their dangerous missions and their personal relationships. The story is filled with audacious twists and turns that keep readers engaged from start to finish.
Each book in Griffin’s Spy Couple Series is unique in its flavor and growth of a Spy Couple, and this makes the serious stand out as a spy thriller. ’33 or 9’ takes Rick and Katja on the next stage of their spy journey by exploring one of the most difficult parts of the mission…sex outside their marriage. With the threat of a dirty bomb getting into the wrong hands, this spy couple must be willing to do anything, sleep with anyone, to get the job done.
The author’s imagination knows no limits on the exploration of intimacy, interrogation, and killing intermixed with the daily military and family life of an American spy couple living in Europe. I wasn’t bored reading this book. Warning: There are sexually explicit scenes throughout this book.
Second Book in the series and Griffin delivers a fun read read with plenty of action! Characters Rick and his spy-babe continue the espionage gig throughout europe runnin' and gunnin' along at a quick pace. recommend with a cabernet and a lap-dog on a rainy night.

Well written espionage thriller that will keep you on edge of your seat. The book is written in 3rd person perspective. There is constant dialogue between characters that gets your attention. The book was easy to read. The formatting was well done. Overall, I thought this was a good book to read on a rainy day to stimulate the imagination and get the heart thumping due to the excitement. It is intended for adults.
The book boldly addresses the oft-ignored facets of spy life, such as the impact on family and the nuances of a relationship under constant strain from their clandestine work. The narrative is gripping, blending action with a deep exploration of the characters’ inner worlds and the challenges they face. More than a spy thriller, it's a story about love, loyalty, and the sacrifices made in the name of duty.
The story explores the shadowy realm of espionage, where the characters encounter an old enemy and acquire even more treacherous new adversaries. The book is skillfully crafted with characters facing challenges in unique and daring ways. One of the drawbacks is that the plot can be excessively complicated at times, but this is an inherent trait of the spy genre.
I really liked the story about spies and secret missions. The characters felt real and exciting parts kept me interested. but sometimes, there were parts that talked about intimate things that made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Overall, it is a pretty cool book about spies, but some parts were a bit too much for me.
This is a fantastic read that put you on a roller coaster ride of excitement. It’s well written and thrilling to read. I highly recommend!!!
A rather interesting and truly fascinating spy plot. I highly recommend it to fans of these classics!
I'm a big fan of spy novels and liked the premise of husband and wife spies in this book. The author adds the stress of marriage and family to the cloak-and-dagger schemes, and assassinations this military couple faces as they chase down and fight the bad guys across the globe. Suspenseful, with a unique twist on spy novels, this is an entertaining read for true fans of crime and mystery novels.

"33 or 9 (Rick and Katja Book 2), " by Ian Griffin is a pulsating thrilling tale of espionage. I have not read book one, but I had no problems with following the story. I did start with an apprehension that it would be like the Mr. and Mrs. Smith storyline, but it was far more detailed and exciting. The dialogues at times sound a little artificial but it was a very minor thing and did not detract me from enjoying this thriller. I highly recommend it with my five stars.
